Bishop Dewane and Bishop-Elect Emilio Biosca Aguero, O.F.M. Cap
After twenty years of service the Holy Father accepted the resignation of Bishop Frank Dewane and has appointed Fr Emilio Biosca Aguero, O.F.M. Cap to succeed him as the new Bishop of the Diocese of Venice.
We at Corpus Christi would like to thank Bishop Dewane for his years of service to the Diocese and for his fatherly care. Bishop Dewane welcomed the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter and established three locations within the Diocese for the celebration of the traditional Latin Mass and other sacraments. He has personally helped our community in innumerable ways, and we are very grateful to him. Let us continue to pray for him.
We would also like to welcome Bishop-Elect Emilio Biosca Aguero, O.F.M. Cap. The Bishop-Elect is a member of the Capuchin Order and has most recently served as the Pastor of the Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Washington, DC. Bishop-elect Aguero has a wealth of missionary and ministerial experience and is a man of profound pastoral skills. Let us pray for him.
