The rising cost of food is impacting everyone, including the hungry in Collier and Lee counties. The Maidens of Mary will be hosting a food drive after all Corpus Christi Masses on Sunday, September 18th. Please bring nonperishable food items to help those in need in our local community.
Yes, we’re the ones you see processing in white before various Masses! Well grounded in tradition, the Maidens of Mary is a sodality which was popular in the 1950s. All young ladies in the parish aged 7 (or after receiving First Communion) through 21 are warmly encouraged to join us this year. The Maidens aspire to give glory to God through the model of authentic Marian femininity in solidarity with one another, and by such works as worship, service to our parish and extended community, and prayer. The Maidens gather two Saturdays each month, at which they receive catechetical instruction from our pastor, work on projects, and have free time to play, share, and build friendships. Some examples of our current and past works include: spiritual bouquets, visits to nursing homes, making scapulars and rosaries, organizing the annual parish ice skating trip, praying for the FSSP seminarians, and pilgrimages. We hope you will join us in this unique opportunity to know, love, and serve our Lord. Please contact Maureen ([email protected]) to express your interest and for further information.
