From a Financial Advisor of our community:
Any Individual Retirement Account holder aged 70 ½ or older may make a contribution directly from a traditional IRA to a qualified 501(c)(3) charity of up to $100,000 without it being considered a taxable distribution.
The CARES Act, signed into law March 27, 2020, enables any taxpayer with a Mandatory Retirement Distribution due in 2020 from their Retirement Plan to skip their MRDs this year.
This is a great and most effective way for parishioners over age 70 ½ to make their 2020 donation to our Corpus Christi Chapel Building Fund.
If you wish to learn more about QCDs, don’t hesitate to ask Father Romanoski or Father Dorsa.
More information regarding your building fund and goals toward your future parish home can be seen here
Every Friday we will have Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the chapel of St. Agnes from 3pm-345pm with Benediction imparted at the end before the 4pm mass.
We welcome Fr. Michael Magiera FSSP, pastor of our apostolate in Joliette, Illinois, visiting the Naples area, who will celebrate our 8:45am Sunday masses at St. Agnes on August 16 and 23
Saturday, August 15th, Assumption of Our Lady- NOT a Holy day of obligation this year; Schedule of Masses
In addition to the current dispensation from Sundays and Holy Days until September 1st, as August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption, falls on a Saturday this year, attendance at Mass does not oblige. Yet, as it is the principal feast day of Our Lady- her birthday into heaven, we hope all may attend out of love and devotion to Our Blessed Mother.
Our schedule for Masses this Saturday will be:
7:30am, St. Agnes, chapel, Low Mass
1:00pm, St. William, High Mass (at which two of our parishioners- Bryce Smith and Jessica McCarthy will be married)
His Excellency, Bishop Frank Dewane, has confirmed the date for rescheduling the conferral of the sacrament of Confirmation for January 9th, 2021. As this date is 7 months later than the originally scheduled date for 2020, we invite any new highschool age candidates, already registered with Corpus Christi Chapel, to sign up by sending us an email to [email protected] and we will schedule complimentary instruction accordingly.
The following are the total amounts donated in the second quarter of 2020 to support our chapel today, and build our permanent home for tomorrow.
Average Sunday & Holy Day Mass attendance since our reopening and additional mass times added in June:
St. Agnes & St. William- Naples: 224
Resurrection of our Lord, Ft. Myers: 119
14 new household registrations: More than 1 new household every week through this quarter! (April-1, May-3, June-10)
A reminder that one can follow the text of the mass with the propers for each day conveniently embedded into their proper places of the ordinary of the missal at the online missal page taken from the bottom left side link on the livemass.net site
