If you are looking for an alternative to smartphones, consider the Wise Phone. It has all the stuff you need without all the potentially sinful stuff you don't need. It includes a clock, calculator, maps, messages, phone, camera, flashlight, photos. This would be ideal for kids whose parents might think their children "need" a phone.
If, for some reason, a person is deemed to need to have a "smartphone" a very good blocker is Quostodio.
On Sunday, July 16th, Fr. van Zee will enroll people in the Brown Scapular after the 8:45am and 4:30pm Masses. It has long been the tradition in the Catholic Church that Communion only be given outside of Mass to those who are sick and unable to attend Holy Mass. The priests will not give Holy Communion to people outside of Mass to those who arrived late or who were in line for Confession, etc. If you are trying to make the First Saturday devotion, please note that it is not a requirement to receive Holy Communion on the First Saturday. Communion received on Friday or Sunday before or after the First Saturday of the month suffices for this devotion.
