Children's Choir: Sign-up link

On September 18th Corpus Christi will be starting the children’s schola program for this year.  There are two levels of schola based on age.  On the 1st and 3rd Saturdays, the rehearsal schedule compliments that of the Maidens of Mary and Acolyte training. Please note that senior scholas will have additional rehearsals on the other Saturdays of the month.

The rehearsal schedule is as follows.

1st & 3rd Saturdays: Royal Palm Academy, Building J (Google Maps)

  • 9:15 - 10:00am - Rehearsals for senior scholas (ages 12 - 18)
    • Saint Michael the Archangel Boys’ Schola, directed by Mr. Andrew Olson
    • Saint Hildegard Girls’ Schola, directed by Miss Nicky Rutherford
  • 10:05 - 10:35am - Rehearsals for junior scholas (ages 8 - 11)
    • Saint Cecilia’s Schola, directed by Miss Nicky Rutherford
    • Saint Raphael’s Schola, directed by Mr. Andrew Olson

2nd, 4th, & 5th Saturdays: St. Agnes Chapel

  • 8:30 - 9:15 - Rehearsals for senior scholas only (ages 12 - 18)

The senior scholas learn a variety of sacred music including chant, hymns, and polyphony.   They rehearse weekly in order to sing at the 8:45am Sunday Mass once a month and for special occasions.

The junior scholas study a variety of sacred music at an age appropriate level.  They learn how to sing in an ensemble and how to read music, particularly Gregorian chant,  in order to prepare them for singing in the senior schola.  While these junior scholas do not sing at the monthly Masses, they will be preparing to sing for special occasions.

If your child is interested in joining a schola, please contact Miss Rutherford at [email protected] for more information.

There is a small registration fee per semester (Fall & Spring) so as to provide a stipend for our generous instructors for their wonderful service for your children and the whole community.

1st child aged 4-9: $45

1st child aged 10-17: $60

2nd child: subtract $10 from the registration fee

Family maximum: $110 per semester

Sign up here.

Adults’ Rehearsals: In addition to our children’s scholas, we also have a group of adults experienced in chant who sing at the 8:45am Mass weekly and on feast days.  Any adults interested in joining this ensemble may contact Miss Rutherford at [email protected] for more information.

Message from Meal Group Coordinator

 From Catherine Yarbrough, Food coordinator:

"The meal group is looking for two or three more women/moms who can bring a meal to our dear priests at least once a month. We have lost a few members recently because they are moving away, are dealing with Covid, or have recently had new babies, etc. so we would really appreciate if you can join us in feeding our priests starting in October. Our Lord said that we fed Him when we fed the hungry - what would He say about when we feed His hungry priests, who actually represent Himself on earth?! :-) Please contact me at [email protected], or text at 239-503-1303. Thank you so much for your kind consideration! May God reward you!"

Please remember that such a donation can be part of one's parish tithing and the gift of a  prepared meal helps the priests have more time to attend to their flock.
