Current Announcements

Cancellation of Masses this Monday

Dear Corpus Christi Parishioners,

Due to the tropical storm and possible hurricane activity tomorrow in Naples, as a safety precaution, St. Agnes will be closing all of their facilities, whereby there will be no public masses or Eucharistic adoration on Monday, November 9, including our masses we normally offer in the chapel. The stated intentions for the public masses will be offered privately. Let us pray that we are spared any damage. The normal schedule should resume on Tuesday. Stay tuned for any further announcements.

A prayer against storms attributed to St. Anthony of Padua and found in the Pieta Prayer Book is the following:

(Make the sign of the cross on the + symbol).

Jesus Christ the King of Glory has come in Peace. + God became man, + and the Word was made flesh. + Christ was born of a virgin. + Christ suffered. + Christ was crucified. + Christ died. + Christ rose from the dead. + Christ ascended into Heaven. + Christ conquers. + Christ reigns. + Christ orders. + May Christ protect us from all storms and lightning. + Christ went through their midst in Peace, + and the Word was made Flesh. + Christ is with us with Mary. + Flee you enemy spirits because the Lion of the Tribe of Juda, the Root of David, has won. + Holy God! + Holy Powerful God ! + Holy Immortal God! + Have mercy on us. Amen!

Requirement of facemasks while at church

We remind CCC members that facemasks are required throughout the diocese while at mass. We are guests at local diocesan parishes who graciously host and help us and we ask that all be resepctful of this diocesan policy and observe this regulation. Thank you much for your cooperation. If it is felt as a sacrifice, please know that it is only temporary and it unites you more intimately to the sacrifice of Christ, who made many unspeakable sacrifices to be united to you, and which same sacrifice is made present at every mass.

Special adjustments for November 2020 All Souls Plenary Indulgences

With the power of the keys to loose the kingdom of heaven upon earth, Holy Mother Church grants a plenary indulgence, that is the complete remission of all temporal punishment due to sin,  all this week (Nov. 1-8), by the particular work of visiting a cemetery and praying for the faithful departed. This particular plenary indulgence is  only applicable to the poor souls (not to one self).

This year, 2020, due to restrictions in churches throughout the world, the Sacred Penitentiary of the Vatican has decreed that the 8 indulgences can be gained throughout the whole month of November. Only 8 in total may be gained, but the 8 opportunities are now extended through all of November and not limited to just the Nov 1-8 period. Read more here.
One may also gain a plenary indulgence on Nov 2, by visiting a Church and reciting an Our Father and Creed.

All are invited to visit Palm Royale Cemetery on Vanderbilt Beach Rd. before or after our daily evening Masses throughout the month.  Read more about this special opportunity and the accompanying conditions. Besides the Rosary, Chaplet, etc. other indulgenced prayers for the fatihful departed may be found in the Church's Raccolta (c.f. pg. 160 et seq)
