Plenary Indulgence Opportunity: Dec. 31 & Jan. 1

“A plenary indulgence is granted to the Christian faithful who, in a church or in an oratory, are present [take part] in a recitation or solemn chant of: ... the hymn Veni Creator ... on the first day of the year, imploring divine assistance for the whole of the coming year... the Te Deum hymn, on the last day of the year, in thanksgiving to God for the favors received in the course of the entire year.” After the 5:15PM Mass on December 31st and January 1, we will recite these hymns during 30 minute respective Holy Half Hours. N.B. All the normal requirements for an indulgence apply.

Sign Up for Epiphany Home Blessing

We will be giving Epiphany home blessings beginning on the Vigil of the Epiphany, Jan. 5. Please sign up on the sheet at the back of the chapel if you wish to have your home blessed. We will try to bless every home, but if necessary, homes previously blessed can have their blessing renewed by the head of household with the family. (See the Rite for the Blessing of a Homebooklet in the back of the chapel, or print your own from this pdf.)

This Saturday: Blessing of Epiphany Water

The blessing of Epiphany water will take place this Saturday, January 5 at 4:30 PM in the Chapel at St. Agnes. This beautiful and powerful blessing will last about 45 minutes. We will try to have enough water for everyone, but you are welcome to bring large containers of water as well as any chalk, incense, gold, and myrrh which you wish to have blessed.

Blessing of Wine and Spirits

The 27th is the feast of St. John the Evangelist. According to the Roman Ritual, we will have a blessing of wine and spirits after the 5:15 P.M. Mass

Final Posada Today

Come join us for the traditional Spanish-American preparation for Christmas with the Posada–Advent Novena. Rosary, Litany in procession, Posada hymn, food and fellowship. This final posada will be hosted at 1980 24th ave NE Naples, Fl. 34120, today, Sunday the 23rd at 6:00 P.M.

Pro-Life Outreach as Scheduled

Planned Parenthood in Naples will be open on Monday, Christmas Eve. Come pray that a child may be born with Christ at our regular weekly “Mondays for Life” prayer vigil this from 9 to 10 A.M. outside of the Naples Planned Parenthood at 1425 Creech Road. Our priests will lead us in the Rosary as we pray for babies at risk of abortion, their mothers, and all people who impact the lives of these innocent victims.

Posadas Begin Today

Come join us for in the traditional Spanish-American preparation for Christmas with the Posada–Advent Novena. A Rosary is prayed and then a traditional dialogue is sung in honor of Mary and Joseph seeking "posada" lodging, followed by fellowship and a collation. The first posada will be hosted by Adelita Manzo at 45 25th Ave. NE, Naples, FL 34120, this Sunday the 16th at 6:30 P.M.

Ember Days: Wednesday and Saturday

Wednesday and Saturday this week are Ember Days – traditional days of penance to ask God to bless the new season and for a rich harvest of souls by the sanctification of the clergy who were traditionally ordained on Ember Saturdays.
