Holy Week Schedule 2021

The holiest week of the year is soon at hand. As the ceremonies will be solemn, both priests and seminarian will perform the role of priest, deacon and subdeacon, and therefore there will not be confessions during the solemn liturgies. Friday, March 19- Solemnity of St. Joseph

This Friday, March 19th, is the Solemnity of St. Joseph, in this special year dedicated to the Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and Paternal Protector of the Universal Church. Being a solemnity, and one of the universal Holy Days, though not obliging in the United States, one need not observe a Friday penance of abstinence from meat. We invite all to Mass on this holy day, in honor of St. Joseph. 4pm low mass, 515pm sung mass.

House Blessings (Epiphany time ended)

As there were very many new families that signed up for house blessings this year, we were not able to visit all of them during the time allotted for Epiphany house blessings. We do retain the request information and will put the families that did not receive it first on the list for next year. Otherwise, we are happy to impart one of the various different house blessings at any other time. Please contact us directly to arrange it.

Fraudulent emails

Always be aware that false emails are occasionaly sent out pretending to be representatives of known organizations to which people belong.

Recently a fraudulent email was sent out using my name (Jonathan Romanoski), with a fictitious email address of frrcorp****ristifssp@gmail attempting to contact some of our parishioners. Please disregard it. Our official emails are listed on our website- with the ip address as @corpuschristifssp.com, fr.r or fr.d @corpuschristifssp.com. We also use [email protected] or [email protected] at times in personal communications. Please feel free to contact us at those or call us to verify if there is ever any doubt.

So please, disregard emails not sent from those email addresses, and obviously the only legitimate way to donate online is through the offical stripe link on our website which goes directly to our parish bank account.

Plenary Indulgence on Fridays during Lent- Prayer before a Crucifix

Under the noraml conditions (sacramental communion, confession 3 weeks before or after, prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father, and detatchment from all affection toward sin), the recitation of the "Prayer before a Crucifix" gains a plenary indulgence on Fridays during Lent.
"Look down upon me, good and gentle Jesus, while before Thy face I humbly kneel and, with burning soul, pray and beseech Thee to fix deep in my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope and charity; true contrition for my sins, and a firm purpose of amendment. While I contemplate, with great love and tender pity, Thy five most precious wounds, pondering over them within me and calling to mind the words which David, Thy prophet, said of Thee, my Jesus: They have pierced My hands and My feet, they have numbered all My bones. Amen."
The prayer can be found in the red misallette at Mass on pg. 65
