Mothers of Corpus Christi

Inspired by the 'Mothers of Lu', we are inviting the  mothers of Corpus Christi to join together to pray for vocations. On the first Sunday of each month, at whichever Mass you attend: 1) offer your Holy Communion for vocations, 2) immediately following Mass, gather up front by the statue of Our Blessed Mother and recite together the following prayers and one decade of the rosary:

For vocations:

“O God, grant that one of my children may become a priest! O Lord, grant that one of my children may become a religious! I myself want to live as a good Christian and want to guide my children to do always what is right, so that I may receive the grace, O God, to be allowed to give you both a holy priest and a religious! Amen.”

For the Church:

“O Holy Spirit, Creator, mercifully assist Thy Catholic Church, and by Thy heavenly power strengthen and establish Her against the assaults of all Her enemies; and by Thy love and grace renew the spirit of Thy servants whom Thou hast anointed, that in Thee they may glorify the Father and His only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.”

Pro-Life Coordinator for Corpus Christi Chapel Karen Foss

My husband Bill, an Army Veteran and I have been married for over 33 years. This past year, as an Archery Instructor at a San Diego, Ca., High School, our Team took First Place in the district and we won Sixth Place at Nationals. Prior to that I was a Financial Planner in San Diego where we were both born and raised.  Three months ago, we moved to Naples from San Diego where we were parishioners at St. Anne, FSSP.   Fr. Lyons would lead us in the Latin rosary every Tuesday in front of Planned Parenthood. We were met with incredible hostility but were successful because P.P. had such a DECREASE in abortions, they invented a new evil way to make money by offering sex change hormones to anyone, even children.  Changing hearts and minds with hopeful help for pregnant women in crisis is working. The P.P. here in Naples CLOSED down but has recently opened again, now offering the chemical abortion pill.  The 40 Days for Life Campaign is working, Sidewalk Advocates are working, your prayers and sacrifices are working.  Together, we can continue to save precious lives in Christ's love.

Considerations on Confessions

With only one priest at Corpus Christi Chapel, some adjustments to confessions must be made. Please consider the following when going to Confession:

To gain an indulgence we need to go to confession either 20 days before or after the day we did the act to gain the indulgence. Therefore, you have forty days to gain the indulgence.

Moral Theologians from before the Second Vatican Council agreed that the laity who are free from mortal sin should go to confession about once a month.

If you have the opportunity to go to confession during the week, please do so. Confessions on Sundays are extremely limited and should be reserved for those who cannot make it on any other day.
