We invite all to Mass on this holy day, in honor of St. Joseph. 4pm low mass, 515pm sung mass.
Stations of the Cross will still follow the 515pm mass.

House Blessings (Epiphany time ended)
As there were very many new families that signed up for house blessings this year, we were not able to visit all of them during the time allotted for Epiphany house blessings. We do retain the request information and will put the families that did not receive it first on the list for next year. Otherwise, we are happy to impart one of the various different house blessings at any other time. Please contact us directly to arrange it.
Fraudulent emails
Always be aware that false emails are occasionaly sent out pretending to be representatives of known organizations to which people belong.
Recently a fraudulent email was sent out using my name (Jonathan Romanoski), with a fictitious email address of frrcorp****ristifssp@gmail attempting to contact some of our parishioners. Please disregard it. Our official emails are listed on our website- with the ip address as @corpuschristifssp.com, fr.r or fr.d @corpuschristifssp.com. We also use [email protected] or [email protected] at times in personal communications. Please feel free to contact us at those or call us to verify if there is ever any doubt.
So please, disregard emails not sent from those email addresses, and obviously the only legitimate way to donate online is through the offical stripe link on our website which goes directly to our parish bank account.
Plenary Indulgence on Fridays during Lent- Prayer before a Crucifix
Under the noraml conditions (sacramental communion, confession 3 weeks before or after, prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father, and detatchment from all affection toward sin), the recitation of the "Prayer before a Crucifix" gains a plenary indulgence on Fridays during Lent.
"Look down upon me, good and gentle Jesus, while before Thy face I humbly kneel and, with burning soul, pray and beseech Thee to fix deep in my heart lively sentiments of faith, hope and charity; true contrition for my sins, and a firm purpose of amendment. While I contemplate, with great love and tender pity, Thy five most precious wounds, pondering over them within me and calling to mind the words which David, Thy prophet, said of Thee, my Jesus: They have pierced My hands and My feet, they have numbered all My bones. Amen."
The prayer can be found in the red misallette at Mass on pg. 65
Stations of the Cross every Friday of Lent
Accompany our Lord along his Way of the Cross every Friday in Lent after the 5:15PM Mass at St. Agnes, beginning this Friday, February 28th. A plenary indulgence, under the normal conditions, can be gained by this holy exercise where Stations are properly erected.
Although we cannot provide booklets for common use under current restrictions, we will have some available for sale. We generally vary between the method of St. Alphonsus and St. Francis of Assisi
Ash Wednesday Schedule of Masses; Obligation of Fast and Abstinence
This Wednesday, Feb 17, is Ash Wednesday and marks the beginning of the penitential season of Lent.
Though not of obligation, one is encouraged to go to mass on this day and receive ashes as a sign of the commitment to do penance, so as to mortify our flesh and strengthen our immortal soul- "Remember O man that you are dust and unto dust you shall return."
We will have Mass at:
St. Agnes: 7am, 4pm, 515pm. One must sign up for these masses, as the chapel is still at 50% capacity.
Resurrection, Fort Myers: 1:30pm. No need to sign up, given the large size of the main church.
Ashes will blessed at the 7am mass and distributed at every mass that day. Ashes will be distributed on the top of one's head. This is the older traditional practice, which has always been the normative manner traditionally observed in Rome even to this day. Although it has become customary to mark them on one's forehead in the United States, the older practice of receiving them on the head is clearly an option in the traditional rite. As the Bishop has expressed his desire that, under the current precautions, they be distributed in this manner, throughout the diocese, we will do so as well as it is in accordance with our particular traditional liturgical laws.
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence. For members of the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church, the norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 through age 59, inclusively. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals/snacks that together are not equal to a full meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding upon members of the Latin Catholic Church from age 14 onwards. If one wishes to freely observe the older discipline in force in 1962 (and thus not currently obligatory), one may see those rules at https://materdeiparish.com/laws-days-abstinence-penance-fast/
